I was torn between the neutral wearability of the tan and the gorgeous color of the turquoise but felt I'd get more use from tan in the long run. The blue sole adds a nice pop of color and the stitching and cut-work make them more than just a lace-up oxford. The size 8 feels just right with tights or a thin sock, I am a 7.5 to 8 in Fluevogs. If I wanted to wear a thicker sock I'd have needed an 8.5.
