Got these for my son for school. He'll never destroy these. He can only outgrow them as he did the last pair. My ex STILL wears his Docs 20 years later. They last FOREVER.

Pros : Comfortable to walk in. Doc Martens' soles are always easy on the foot. (Note-if you've never tried them, they're not soft or squishy, but they're not rock hard either).The leather has a very nice simple, clean finish. Nice lines, no excess stitching on the upper.Plenty of room in the toe. I have wider feet, so most dress shoes are a nightmare for me, but my toes feel cozy without the shoe looking boatish.Solid construction - Not worried at all about these shoes holding up a few years or more, and the sole material is great and slip-resistant.Cons : Leather's stiff at first. Perhaps they're not broken in yet, but after wearing them around the house all day my insteps were slightly sore. I tend to tie my shoes pretty tightly though...Sole is large and heavy. Looking at the shoe from above, you'll notice it protrudes a little from the edge of the shoe. The sole material itself is great - another place Dr Martens never go wrong at, but be advised that it isn't a lightweight shoe.OVERALL - 4/5. After a few hours of shopping for a new work shoe, I didn't find anything that had both the look and feel I'd wanted, but these were the best compromise I found. Very comfortable with a nice professional look. Took away one star because the comfiest pair of shoes I tried on today were Sperry Topsider Pilots, but the Martens look quite a bit more refined.ALSO NOTE - Dr Martens don't run in half-sizes, though they do sell special soles that take up some room in the heel. I was buying my pair at a Dr Martens outlet store in Seattle and another customer was satisfied with how the insert improved the fit in the pair he was looking at.
