Deciveing Reviews

I am a willing convert for excellent products, but am stunned that this shoe has nothing to offer as stated in reviews, other than being lightweight. We're talking dollar store light. I nearly slid on my kitchen floor with the non-existant tread. The strings are the sturdiest feature. Sorry France (made in China), my loyalty remains to Clarks.

Sadly, had to return

I first ordered these shoes in a size 8, my normal size. I loved the look of them when they arrived and also the feel, but I decided they were too short for a good walking shoe and I exchanged them for a size 8 1/2. They arrived today and it seems that the length is just a tad longer, but the width is way wider. I am very sad to have to return these! Order the same length as your athletic shoes or 1/2 size up from your regular size. Even with the lace up, these are way too wide for me and I normally order a size M width.

Very Comfortable Shoes

I was a little nervous about ordering these shoes online, because I was unsure about which size to get. In the end, I selected size 36. I am a size 5.5 to 6 in the US, and these shoes in size 36 fit great. If you have narrow feet, you may need a size smaller as they are a wide shoe. They are very comfortable and have great arch support. I'm on my feet all day at work, so I'm really happy with how comfy they are, and they don't look half bad either.

Comfort--right out of the box

I can't yet speak to their trail worthiness as I haven't gone on my hiking trip, but these shoes felt great right out of the box. I've owned other pairs of Ecco hikers and loved them. These seem to be as good as the ones I've owned in the past. They're lightweight and flexible and true to Ecco, the cushioning around the ankle is great. Plenty of room in the toe box, but with a good, secure, snug fit. I normally wear a 9.5, but I routinely order the 41's and they fit great with a good hiking sock.

Beautiful shoe, can feel tight for long-term wear.

I wanted a pair of patent leather oxfords because patent fights salt stains in the winter. I was thrilled to find a brown patent leather pair - in person they look almost liquid with shine. I wear 7.5s and 8s in shoe sizes, depending on brand. Other on-line reviews warned these ran small, so I ordered an 8. The 8 fits well. After 6 hours or so, they do start to feel tight at the widest part of my foot, so I wouldn't wear them on a particularly long days of walking. They do resist salt stains well, but the bottom is perfectly smooth and lacks traction so ice should be avoided in these. Also, these shoes are so gorgeous you may find yourself looking down at your feet when you walk!

I've been looking at these shoes for a while and debating whether or not to order them. Finally, after looking at reviews on other websites, I decided to order them in my regular size 10. I am really glad I did because the 10 fits perfectly. I got the graphite color, which is like gunmetal. I can't wait to wear them! They look really good on my feet.
